Giethoorn - Hollands VeniceGiethoorn is a village of 2,500 inhabitants and because of the numerous canals it’s called „Dutch Venice“. The small village is located amidst the nature protection area “De Wieden”; the houses are built upon banks and have the typical red roofs. Across the many “across-canals” within the village there are the characteristically wooden bridges. Of course Giethoorn is car-free and together with the national park “De Weerribben” it builds the biggest lowland moor of Europe.
