International youth football tournaments 2011 at the Costa de Barcelona-Maresme

Interesting Facts

zoom

The Costa Maresme runs from the town of Tordera in the north to Barcelona in the south, and has a length of about 50 km. This coast is characterised by long, sandy beaches, lively boulevards, and fun tourist towns, such as Malgrat de Mar, Santa Susanna, Blanes, Calella and, of course, Lloret de Mar situated on the Costa Brava to the north. The Costa Maresme offers plenty of opportunities to relax (restaurants, outdoor cafés, beaches), go shopping and party the night away (discos, night-clubs). It also provides various options for (water) sports. And, of course, there is a stadium or a football pitch in every town.

Organization

This tournament is organized by the clubs of FC Pineda, CF S. Susanna, AT Pol, CF Santvicenti (members of the Federació Catalana de Fútbol) in cooperation with KOMM MIT, supported by the local town halls and the Colegio de Arbitros de Mataró.

Sports facilities

Games are played on man-made artificial pitches in Pineda de Mar, Arenys de Munt, Sant Vicenç de Montalt, S. Pol, S. Susanna, Mataró and Lloret de Mar. All stadiums are equipped with changing rooms and showers.

Lodging

The teams are accommodated in holiday hotels (self-contained rooms with three or four beds) and occasionally in apartments (country category in each case) in the tourist towns of the Costa Barcelona- Maresme (Calella, Pineda de Mar, Santa Susanna, Malgrat de Mar, Blanes and Lloret de Mar). At an extra charge teams can book one single bedroom per 20 persons or per team in case of a smaller group.

Board

Full board (Spanish and international cuisine) is provided throughout your stay. First meal: dinner, last meal: packed lunch instead of lunch at the hotel. Except for Copa Pentecostés: first meal: lunch, last meal: breakfast. The meals are usually served buffet-style, all breakfast beverages, such as coffee, tea and juice, are included.

Excursions

Besides the football pitches the region offers lots of possibilities for excursions and recreational activities: A visit to Barcelona, the capital of Cataluña, with the “Sagrada Familia” - Antoni Gaudí‘s unfinished masterpiece, the famous harbour, the “Ramblas” – the city’s central street – and, of course, the stadium of “Camp Nou” is a highlight for everyone. A comprehensive range of sports activities is offered to help you stay active – even outside the pitches, such as a visit to the adventure park “Activ Natura”– it’s up to you!

Transfer

If you arrive “on your own”- by private car, bus, train or airplane, please always consider that you have to be mobile on site. The KOMM MIT staff will be pleased to help you book your airport shuttle and / or your bus transfer during the tournament.

NEW   You can also book board and lodging at a 3-star+/4-star hotel at an extra charge!
