Country and Location InfosInternational youth football tournament Elsass-Spring-Cup 2011 in Kehl and StrasbourgInteresting FactsWelcome to Kehl, a cute little town of about 30,000 inhabitants located in Germany’s sunny south-west corner. Enjoy a walk through the charming streets of Kehl with its unmistakable mix of French and German flair, walk down the Rhine River until the “Europabrücke” bridge that connects Germany and France. Across the river, the city of Strasbourg, the socalled “Capital of Europe” (together with Brussels) with its charming old town combined with the splendour of institutional buildings inspired by „German“ architecture is worth visiting. The typically Alsatian food which is served in this region is synonymous with conviviality; the dishes are substantial and served in generous portions. Come enjoy this unique tournament – a brilliant mix of football matches, European encounters, and tented camp atmosphere. OrganizationThe Elsass-Spring-Cup is organized by the football club Kehler FV 07, the City of Kehl and KOMM MIT. Sports facilitiesA big part of the matches will be played in the famous “Rheinstadion Kehl”; the other matches are played on natural grass pitches and on a man-made grass-like pitch in Kehl and the surrounding area. Lodging
Accommodation is provided at a tented camp on the sports grounds (18 to max. 24 persons per tent). Adequate bathroom facilities are on site. Please bring your air mattress and a sleeping bag. Alternative accommodation is provided at a youth hostel or a hotel (on request) in Kehl and the surrounding area. Board
Full-board is provided for all participants who have booked tented camp accommodation. The meals are served in a catering tent on site. At the Ortenberg youth hostel half-board is provided. If you prefer accommodation at a hotel you can book breakfast only or half board. On the sports ground food is available at the snack bars. ExcursionsApart from the tournament and the “ALLtogether”-programme, there is a lot more to enjoy: Have a boat trip on the Rhine River or go for a walk through Kehl by night. Experience the thrill rides and many other fascinating attractions of the amazing Europa-Park Rust, Germany’s biggest theme park. Or have a relaxing swim in the outdoor pool next to the stadium! If you arrive “on your own”- by private car, bus, train or airplane, please always consider that you have to be mobile on site. The KOMM MIT staff will be pleased to help you book your airport shuttle and/ or your bus transfer during the tournament. |
