All information about KOMM MIT

KOMM MIT is an independent, private, non-profit organisation that has been promoting solidarity among children and young people in Europe for more than 35 years. The focus is on intercultural youth encounters.

KOMM MIT brings together more than 25,000 children and young people from over 60 different nations in several European countries every year with specially organised sports events with an Olympic character.

Through the sporting and cultural programme, the children and young people learn important and sustainable values for social coexistence. Mutual respect, the acceptance of differences and the recognition of the achievements of others are fundamental values for a peaceful and solidary coexistence. In addition to promoting international understanding in Europe and the world, KOMM MIT also supports various projects.

Club life provides a “green field” for the personal development of children and young people. Volunteers get involved to offer them a wide range of sports and create a club life that often functions as a central meeting point for children and young people. In the club, they not only have the opportunity to do sports, but also experience and learn important socially relevant values through sport.

FINANCING

In the past 37 years, we have been able to bring together more than 700,000 children and young people from over 60 nations and have provided more than 100,000 kits and 40,000 balls to the clubs at grassroots level.

Over the past decades, we have honoured more than 2,500 volunteer coaches and provided travel subsidies to help teams that would not have been able to send their players without these subsidies – all financed from our own funds. Through participation in our events for international understanding, we are able to finance our various support projects. Ultimately, everything goes from the grassroots back to the grassroots.
