KOMM MIT was awarded the German Sustainability Prize 2025 in the “Society” transformation field. This recognition honors our decades-long commitment to social sustainability, international youth meetings and a peaceful, cohesive Europe.

Social sustainability for over 40 years

Since our founding, we have pursued the goal of providing young people with spaces for encounter, exchange and personal development through soccer. Through our international youth tournaments, we have connected more than 1,000,000 children and young people from numerous nations over the past decades.

Values such as respect, fair play, team spirit and diversity shape these encounters and create an environment in which intercultural learning takes place as a matter of course. This creates social sustainability that has an impact far beyond the playing field.

Self-financed cycle — impact from own efforts

As a non-profit organization, we manage to support our work ourselves and continuously reinvest in promoting young people. This sustainable cycle — from our events back to youth support — is an essential part of our work and a reason for being honored by the DNP.

Strong partners for a powerful impact

Our work is complemented by long-standing, committed partnerships, which significantly strengthen our contribution to society and thus significantly increase it like an “impact lever.” These include in particular:

· the German Football Association (DFB) — to promote volunteer work in children's and youth soccer,

· The United Foundation! PSD Bank West eG and Deutsche Telekom's Starkick Charity campaign — for more participation and equal opportunities (SDG 10),

· JAKO AG — to reduce the financial burden on grassroots associations and teams.

These collaborations enable us to set up additional funding structures and enable even more children and young people to participate in international meetings.

Award with meaning

For us, awarding the German Sustainability Prize certificate is both confirmation and motivation. It shows that social sustainability is created where encounters are made possible, diversity is visible and young people are given spaces in which they can develop freely.
